Welcome to our brand new website for The Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain. We aim to encourage and develop the playing of both the clarinet and saxophone and to provide a major resource for its members through its informative magazine, extensive library of music (newly re-homed at Goldsmiths London) and this website. Check out the forum section on the website where you can get involved in interesting discussions
CASS is organising events around the United Kingdom to get players actively involved performance. In 2008 CASS will host a major event at Kneller Hall, famous for its role in the training of military musicians throughout the world. This event will give you the opportunity to join in with the play day, and the chance to meet some of the leading composers and talk to them about and explore their new works. Keep checking the magazine and this website for updates and for details of other exciting projects.
The join link at the top of this page will outline the benefits of membership, which include access to a substantial library of music and a full-colour magazine posted directly to you. You can download an application form from there to apply straightaway, or use the online payment system.
As Chairman of the Society I welcome any ideas and comments that you may have either having visited out website or on reading the magazine. It is my aim to encourage as many players to become part of our organisation to build an interesting and involving future for all our members. If you have any amusing photos involving the clarinet or saxophone, why not submit them to our Editor, Richard Edwards maybe for a caption competition!
We are always interested to hear of activities in your area so do make sure that we know about them in advance. You can request to join the ‘round robin’ list circulated as each issue of the magazine is prepared as a reminder to submit concert date and information on courses or play-days. Are you a budding writer? If so why not send an article to the Editor and perhaps you will have a chance to appear in print? Have you an instrument to sell? Members can advertise their instruments free of charge in the classifieds.

Don’t forget to check out our Diary section of events around the country which includes information on courses and performances that you may want to attend. Keep up to date with what is happening in the single reed world in the lively news section and know about new music, books, CDs, DVDs, instruments and accessories from the reviews in issue.
Don’t miss out by not being a member and keep on blowing!
